We are planning to remodel the Iqra Learning Center!
The building itself has been around for more than 30 years, so when the school was officially opened up in 2017, the condition was run-down.
Iqra Learning Center has over 220 weekend students alone.
They memorize and learn Quran, memorize morning and evening supplications, go over the seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Peace Be Upon Him), and also go over books of aqeedah.
This center has been the reason for an abundance of kids withdrawing from the street life of drugs, bad companions, haram money, etc.
It is important we maintain a healthy living condition for the students and the people to practice Islam.
Iqra holds the 5 daily prayers, jummuah prayer, weekday classes for the public, and a weekend tahfeez (Quran memorization) program.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING TO DO:
- deep clean the carpets
- repaint the walls
- establish a TV in the sisters section
- get bookshelves for the students
- proper desk for the teachers
- pay any installation fees for anything aforementioned
Abu Sa’id reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If you see a man committed to the mosque, bear witness to his faith. Verily, Allah Almighty said: The mosques are only maintained by those who have faith in Allah and the Last Day, establish prayer and give charity.” (9:18)
