Mission Statement:

Remnant seeks to explore the question, 'Is it possible to hold onto love without holding onto pain?' By delving into the deeply human intersections of love, loss, and memory, the film examines how we carry the weight of memories and navigate the tension between holding on and letting go. Grief is presented not just as a burden but as a doorway—a tender passage that reconnects us to love, transforms us, and calls us back to life.

The Story:

Remnant follows Vivian, a woman navigating the delicate balance of love and loss while caring for her young daughter and her mother, who suffers from dementia. As grief quietly weaves through her days, she is haunted by memories and the weight of holding onto love amid loss. Through fragmented moments of sorrow and resilience, Vivian's story explores how love endures even in the face of profound loss, offering a tender reminder of hope and the strength to move forward.

Why?

In the span of about a year, I lost three of the most influential people in my life. Each loss shaped me in ways I’m still discovering, and Remnant is my way of processing that grief while exploring a universal truth: how we carry love and loss together. This is the most personal film I’ve ever made—a deeply emotional story that reflects not only my experiences but the journey we all face in holding onto love amid the ache of letting go.

Remnant is also a culmination of everything I’ve learned as a filmmaker. It’s an opportunity to push my skills as a director and storyteller, to create something unapologetically me, and to invite audiences to reflect on their own experiences with grief.

About Us:

Our team is composed of the up-and-coming generation of filmmakers. Our key team just recently wrapped principal photography on another capstone film, Verloren, that has received praise from peers, professors, and professionals alike. We are excited to take our experience from that project and apply it to this next one.
