Remi’s Recovery

Remi, a sweet border collie/bernese mountain dog mix, was attacked by another dog last Friday. Among multiple bite marks and lacerations, his front left leg was badly broken with bones exposed. The options at the first emergency vet were to either put him down or take him to a different animal hospital for a second opinion. Remi is such a sweetheart and an important part of the family so it was an easy decision, he needed to be somewhere capable of taking care of his injuries. Friday night he was taken to a trauma animal hospital where the ER vets kept him sedated while they stabilized his vitals and cleaned and stitched all of his wounds overnight. Saturday morning the surgeons saw him and took him to surgery where his entire front left shoulder and leg were removed. He had a rough 2 nights after surgery in the ICU, but he finally came home on Monday. Although he’s happy to be home, he’s still very traumatized and anxious. Remi has a long road ahead of him adjusting to his new life on 3 legs.

I created this page to help Devyn and her family with the cost of the ER visit, ICU stay, surgery, and the extra supplies needed now that Remi is tri-pawed.
