Remi Jane Gaines was born on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:21pm weighing 7lbs 4oz to my niece and her husband in Branson, MO. She had to have an emergency c-section and as a result of the abrupt entrance into this world, Remi needed some extra attention and was transported up to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Springfield, MO.
Sarah had to stay behind to recover from the c-section, but thankfully got about ten minutes with her. Never did Sarah think that she would have to FaceTime with Grant to see their baby. Their family of three just didn’t feel like they were a family yet.
Remi took about 5 steps forward and was able to breath on her own and have some skin to skin time with Sarah. Unfortunately, as of March 30th, Remi has taken 4 steps backwards and has been reintubated due to a whole body infection they can't control with antibiotics. Therefore, she is being transported to a children's hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Sarah and her husband are people of faith and give their time and money to God. Even through this ordeal, they are strong in their faith.
