King was my best friend, a piece of my soul, and the best dog anyone could have. He lived a happy life of 13 years and was always by my side. For the past 2 years King got to know alot of people and became a part of a community that was built from my store in Huntington Beach.
King could be seen at Trainer Center everyday greeting all the kids, friends and families that came in with little barks. Which in turn was his way of asking for pets. Everyday King would sit with all of us and give love and attention to anyone that would come into his life and especially his store.
He unfortunately passed on January 5 2024. I'm very sad to say he did not have an easy passing. His last 2 weeks here on this earth were quite traumatizing. It started with a hidden infection in his teeth which lead to huge abscess that formed over the course of a day behind his eye causing his left eye to nearly buldge out of his socket, causing a violent seizure. After being rushed to the vet they were forced to remove all but 3 of his remaining teeth. Then put on antibiotics to fight the infection. Unfortunately it was to late his eye had ruptured in his head and had to be removed. Experiencing another seizure while waiting for surgery, then 2 more after. Things were looking okay for a bit and he fought his hart out for 5 days after the surgery, but the infection had effected his brain. Between the surgery and side effects of the medication on his body it couldn't take it anymore. After he had a 10+ minute seizure which he was fighting the whole time, he even kept standing up in the middle of it and tried to walk it off multiple times. He again was rushed to the emergency vet. After multiple anti seizure shots and sedatives he still continued to have seizure during and after. At this time with my heart, soul, and mind totally devastated I could not let him suffer anymore. He fought till the end and did not want leave; But I could not let him live his life possibly as a vegetable or in constant discomfort and pain.
This all happened from December 22nd/ 2023 - January 5th/2024. Which compounded the expenses substantially. Not only going to ER Vet 3 times but surgery during the holidays the expenses just got astronomical. Coupled by the store being closed during this time, I have exhausted my finances and have accured quite a bit of debt. Outside of this my business was very slow from October-November and operated at a loss. Which created more pressure in December during King's unfortunate events.
Please. If you know King and I and we have impacted you in any way or if you have gone through a great loss yourself or if sympathize with what I am going through. Please help.
Rest In Peace my baby boy.
I will carry you in my heart forever.
