"To know him was to love him." This quote could have been written for Jamie Long. Anyone who has crossed paths with him instantly cared for him and fell in love with his smile. Those who had the pleasure to get to know him further understood how passionate and deep he was. His poems and music were truly meaningful. His personality was like no other; unique, kind, warm, creative.

Although Jamie will never be forgotton, the MHS Class of 2006 would like to set up a place where anyone can go and remember him. Our idea is to plant a tree locally, in a public place; where loved ones can go hang out, write poems, play music, etc. This will take some planning but we hope to make it happen.

We hope to raise enough money to pay for the tree to be planted, plus any permits or obstacles that we may need to take care of. If we raise enough, we would like to hold a "planting ceremony" where we can host a community cook out, bands can come and jam out, and friends can read poetry or share memories of Jamie on an open mic. Any extra money will be donated to the Long family, or to other funds that have been set up in Jamie's name.

ANY amount will help. If we all chip in just a couple of dollars we could make this happen. Please do what you can.
Thank you,
The Marshfield High School Class of 2006
