A Service Dog In Loving Memory Of Daniel Davis
What do a Servant Heart and a Service Dog have in common?
On November 1st, 2019 the world lost an amazing man. Daniel Davis was a patriot, a hard-worker, and had an unmatched heart to love and serve others. He was devoted and loving husband, an irreplaceable, kind-hearted father, a proud and goofy Papa, a blessing of a son, and a loyal friend. He loved and lived well; taking good care of those in his life from neighbors to friends to family. His wife is no different: a perfect match in every way.
Prior to his sudden passing, he and his wife, Kathee, were in the process of vetting service dog organizations to find an ideal match to help meet Kathee’s mobility, hearing and anxiety needs.
It would make Daniel’s heart so happy to know that community is already coming around her in helping her navigate daily challenges - including our effort to get a service dog for Kathee.
We have not yet found an organization with whom we are a good match (we will continue to look!); however, we have found that service dogs which would help meet Kathee’s needs can generally cost upwards of $25,000 - not including travel and lodging for training with the dog and all the other things that are involved in this multi-step process. In the end, the cost could be as much as $40,000.
In the spirit of honoring and remembering Dan and championing one of the things that would have been most heavy on his heart during this season, as well as coming alongside of Kathee, we have set up this Go Fund Me Account. Donations can be made anonymously or publicly. Additionally, we are setting up a private account wherein donations can be made directly to our family and allocated for this purpose.
