To family and friends,
With a very heavy heart, I sadly announce the passing of my father, Vieng. He was a father to 7 and the eldest brother of 5. Recently, my dad had suffered a severe hemorrhagic stroke, which led him to be hospitalized for a few months until his passing. His recovery after his initial stroke was a miracle, and we were much overjoyed and blessed he held on to give us a little more time to be with him before he left us. Although his passing was very sudden, our family wishes nothing more than just final rest and peace for my dad.
My dad, Vieng, was always a fighter in life and also a man of many wisdoms and humor. If you knew my dad, you’d know his hair was always dyed different colors, but his all time favorites were pink, blonde or red. Dad was known for his goofiest smile and spreading laughter to those around him with ease. He always had a wild story to tell or past experience that would be so unbelievable sometimes. One thing I can confidently say about my dad is the fact that he was soo talented at anything he put his mind to, like making a whistle from a leaf or even making bamboo swords. I’d say he was also one of the best teppanyaki chefs in Visalia. For sure though, my dad was a good man with a heart too big and too loving.
The Khamneungthai family kindly asks for any help for us to properly lay my dad to rest with his family here in Visalia. Our family thanks you all in advance and hope to see you all attend his memorial service. We hope to hear from friends, family or even distant colleagues about the great memories they had with Vieng, for anything about my dads life and his memories while alive and healthy are something we cherish deeply.
Please join us at his memorial service :
