Remembering Tristan: A Life Cut Short by Fentanyl

TRISTAN'S MEMORY MATTERS FOUNDATION Today I want to share the story of a young life that mattered — a 16-year-old named Tristan.

Tristan wasn’t a “troubled kid.” He was quite the opposite actually. He loved sports, made good grades, and came from a small town in Mississippi. He was the kind of young man who rarely gave anyone trouble, the kind of kid people describe as respectful, driven, and full of potential. He had a future ahead of him. His dream was to be a K9 handler in the Air Force.

But something changed everything.

Fentanyl

A bright kid that Just turned 16 in Nov 2024 and just a month later on 12/26/24 he lost his life to an overdose. His mother, father, family, friends, teammates, all who knew him, knew this world would be different without him in it.
One yes turned into a forever goodbye.

Now his mom is spending every day warning others of the dangers of Fentanyl.
Illicitly manufactured Fentanyl kills 200 people a day in the US.
We have to listen.
Tristan isnt just a number. He was their everything.

This post isn’t about judgment. It’s about awareness. Fentanyl is real, it’s dangerous, and it does not care if someone is a good student, a good athlete, or a good person. So many families are losing their children not because they were “bad kids,” but because they didn’t fully understand how deadly this drug truly is. Mrs. Lisa (Tristans mom) said that she had always warned her son about drugs but she wishes she would have warned him about bad people. That stuck with me. She is right. We forget to warn our children of the people that could come into their lives and what they could bring.

Please talk to your kids. Educate your friends. Share Tristan’s story so that another family doesn’t have to experience this kind of loss.

Let’s remember Tristan for who he was — a good kid, a bright light, and a life that deserved so much more time.

Rest easy, Tristan. Your story matters, and your life will not be forgotten.
