Story of Tomoyuki Ohira
Our beloved Tomoyuki Ohira, AKA Tomo passed away very suddenly on 7th August 2021, aged just 43.
Tomo was born and raised in Osaka, Japan and as a child, he enjoyed running and swimming. He loved to visit his grandparent's place in Kagoshima, the south side of Japan and loved to go to the seaside. He was always surrounded by his friends. He had many friends since he was little.
16 years ago, life brought him to Vancouver where Tomo loves to hang out and where he can go surfing, which he started since he was in Japan.
Tomo got married to the love of his life – Satomi in November 2020 and a few months ago he took time off work to recharge from the hectic Vancouver life while planning their future together. He had many plans and was full of dreams. He was on the way to move to Nanaimo to build a new home. 
He considered Vancouver, Canada as his second home. He again made many friends who can call them his family and enjoyed spending time filled with laughter.
In recent years he loved camping with Satomi and surfing while they were at the camping site.
He spent the last hours of his life with Satomi at Tofino beach, doing what he loved to do, camping and surfing.
His sudden passing was a complete shock to us all, the pain is tremendous, but we can find solace in the fact he was at his happiest, enjoying his favourite activities with favourite people, focused on himself and his family.
Tomo leaves behind his family and many friends from all over the world. He will be greatly missed, but we will cherish every memory of every moment spent together. Until we meet again.
