Our beloved father, Thao Loua Lor, passed away on February 6th from an abdominal aortic aneurysm that left us reeling at the speed in which it happened. The prior day, he was in the garden pulling weeds and trimming bushes. Around 3 a.m., he woke up with sharp pain in both of his lower hamstrings. The pain progressively got worse to the point where he was no longer able to sit or stand. Around 9:30 a.m., our father was transported to the local hospital via an ambulance. At the hospital, the nurses and doctor did their best to stabilize his blood pressure, oxygen levels, and provide pain relief. Our father took his last breath around 11:30 a.m. despite all the hard work and attempts of the hospital and transport teams. Our family will forever be grateful to the people who did their best to try and save our father.
Our father was a man of few words, but when he did speak, his words were full of wisdom, life lessons, and words of encouragement. He saw the worst of humanity fighting in the Vietnam War and he saw the best while raising us in America. Losing our father has left a big void that will never be filled.
We are deeply aware that the times are challenging and are grateful for all the support, prayers, and thoughts.
