Dear friends and family,
We are deeply saddened by the unexpected loss of Stephanie Ann Nicholson Beekman, who passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from health issues that she dealt with very privately for many years. Stephanie was the owner of Pintoli's Cafe, which was a staple in the Satsuma community since 1999. Unfortunately, Stephanie (and her husband Mark) had to make the very difficult decision in 2019 to close her restaurant when her health took a turn and then Mark subsequently was also dealing with serious heart failure issues. Closing the restaurant that she poured her heart, soul and life savings into took a toll on her physically, mentally and financially. The last few years have been extremely difficult for Stephanie and her husband, Mark. Not wanting to "throw in the towel", Pintoli's reopened in Creola for pick-up and delivery, so that many of you could continue to enjoy your favorite Italian dishes. Mark and Stephanie spent the last year remodeling their new location and looked forward to welcoming everyone back for in-person dining this spring.
Stephanie was so generous to the many who worked for her over the years and to both the Satsuma and North Mobile communities. She always put others before herself and gave back in every possible way that she could. She touched the lives of so many people directly and indirectly with her kindness, generosity, and genuine spirit. Her final wishes were for her body to be used for scientific research purposes. Unfortunately, she wasn't a candidate for anatomical donation. Her husband Mark, however; was able to donate her eyes, bone marrow and connective tissue, so her generosity continues even in death.
As we begin to process her loss, we want to honor Stephanie's memory by celebrating her life and the impact she made on those around her. We are asking for your support in raising funds for her cremation and a celebration of life gathering which will take place on her birthday, next Sunday, February 19th, in the City of Satsuma. Details will be forthcoming once the location and time are confirmed. Everyone is encouraged to attend and share their favorite memories.
Stephanie's unexpected passing has left a financial burden on her husband, Mark, and we want to alleviate some of that stress by coming together to contribute what we can. Any amount, big or small, is greatly appreciated and will go towards honoring Stephanie's legacy.
We are grateful for any support you can give, whether it's a monetary donation or simply sharing this fundraiser with others in your social network who may want to contribute. A donation to your favorite North Mobile area charity in Stephanie's honor is also appreciated.
Thank you for helping us remember Stephanie and all the good she brought into the Satsuma and surrounding communities.
With sincere gratitude,
Kristie Beekman Trout on behalf of the Nicholson and Beekman families
