Remembering Shawn: A Father's Love
Donation protected
On July 22nd, our family’s world was turned upside down when we unexpectedly lost Shawn Micheal Nafziger. At just 45 years old, Shawn was far too young to leave this earth, and his sudden passing has left a huge hole in the lives of everyone who loved him.
While our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Shawn is now reunited in Heaven with his loving father and mother, watching over all of us.
Shawn was more than just a father — he was a protector, a provider, and a best friend to his four daughters: Zoe, Kira, Arianna, and Aubree. He was also a proud grandfather to two beautiful grandbabies, Nova and Kai’ron, who brought so much light into his life. Anyone who knew Shawn knew that his girls were his entire world. He worked hard every day, not for himself, but to make sure his family was taken care of, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
Shawn grew up in Easley, South Carolina, where he played football for Easley High School, a passion that turned into a lifelong love for the sport. Saturdays in the fall, you could always find him cheering for his favorite team — the Clemson Tigers — with that big smile and energy everyone knew him for. Beyond football, Shawn had a love for cooking and took pride in making meals that brought people together. Whether it was a simple dinner or a big family gathering, he found joy in feeding others and seeing people happy.
Shawn was also a loving brother to Ashley Nafziger and Stephen Jr. Nafziger, and a friend to so many who will miss his laugh, his jokes, and the way he could brighten up any room. He touched countless lives with his kindness, generosity, and the way he never hesitated to help those around him.
With his passing being so sudden, our family was not prepared for the financial burden of funeral and memorial expenses. We want to give Shawn the service he truly deserves — a chance for his family and friends to gather, share memories, and say our final goodbyes. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering the costs of his funeral, burial, and giving him the farewell he deserves.
If you’re unable to donate, we ask that you please share this page or keep our family in your thoughts and prayers during this heartbreaking time. Shawn will forever be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, love, and generosity as we navigate this unimaginable loss.
