On June 5th at 10:02 AM, Brent and Sara Gerig welcomed Eliana Marie Gerig into the world. She weighed 6 lbs, 5 oz at birth, and has continued to grow quickly.
Tragically on the morning of Sunday, June 14, Sara Elisabeth Chambers Gerig, experienced blood pressure complications stemming from the pregnancy, and she passed away suddenly from a rupture of the coronary artery. We deeply grieve her loss, and ask for prayer for her family, friends, and coworkers. She is survived by her husband Brent, daughter Abby (3), daughter Eliana (newborn), her parents Tim and Cheryl Chambers, and sister Bethany.
If any of you know Sara, then you know she had a heart for her family. No one in the world was as important to her as her husband and her 2 beautiful girls. Sara lived her life loving people deeply and even on her hardest days, her gentleness for others showed through.
We are raising money in order to provide for the various expenses that come with an unexpected loss. Once memorial expenses are covered, the remaining funds will be used to set up a remembrance fund to support Brent and Sara's daughters, Abby and Eliana.
In order to comply with GoFundMe's policies, I need to include the following paragraph: I (Kali Wolken) am the one running this fundraiser for Sara's family. I've known Brent and Sara for several years now and have been the direct recipient of their kindness and friendship, for which I am grateful. Sara also worked with me at Still Waters, and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to deepen our friendship through our work together. As I've said, these funds are intended to cover funeral and memorial costs. Any funds not used directly for this, will be considered gifts to Sara's husband, Brent Gerig and their 2 daughters, Abby and Eliana. Brent will be the one to withdraw the funds as I've made him the beneficiary of this fundraiser. I will not be withdrawing the funds myself but instead he will be able to have direct access to these donations.
