Rony Cabrera was a light to everybody who knew him. A veteran, a former police officer, a loving son, a caring brother, a best friend, and an amazing boyfriend are just a few of the ways to describe him. At just 22 years old, he was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Maryland’s I-70 on Sunday, May 25th, 2025. As Rony was in a box trailer truck in the second lane of westbound I-70 a BMW SUV, moving at a high speed, attempted to merge into the same lane. This resulted in a collision with the box trailer. Consequently, the box trailer lost control and crossed the median, where it was subsequently struck by an eastbound tractor trailer. The vehicle then caught fire. His family and loved ones are facing a great tragedy and a loss that cannot be described. We want to give Rony the memorial he deserves and to honor his memory. We aim to provide support for the family that he left behind.

The person behind this fundraiser is Julian Lee Lopez, a childhood friend of Rony’s. Those who also were apart of this are Jaime, Mayerli and Josie. 

The money will be deposited to me and then given to Rony’s mother, Norma Garcia Orozco. We thank everyone for their support.
