"Like a rock, I was strong as I could be. Like a rock, nothin' ever got to me. Like a rock, I was something to see. Like a rock." - Bob Seger's "Like a Rock" (1986)

Robert Gordon was a hard working man, a loving Father, a full-hearted Grandfather, and a friend to all who were fortunate enough to meet him.  I can say without any doubt that in one way or another, he had an impact on the lives of everyone he met. Whether it was through one of multiple service calls, where he excelled with his self taught AC installation and repair skills, or a simple banter with employees at a gas station, laughter followed no matter where he went. A contagious, full-bellied laughter that will forever linger in our hearts in bittersweet memory.

On Saturday, November 7th, Robert lost his 3 week fight against Coronavirus after it had developed into pneumonia. He was faced with cardiac arrest, and passed away at 2:40 AM. The call was a devastating, heartbreaking reality that we would never get to see him again, and we'll continue to carry this grief for the rest of our lives. He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, 2 children, and 5 grandchildren.

--

As per his request, we will be having a small viewing for immediate family before he is cremated. We understand that this news is shocking, unexpected and devastating. The world is in an uncomfortable place right now, and with the pandemic still impacting our lives, we have decided that sometime in the coming few weeks we will host a service to honor and celebrate the full, beautiful life he had created with family and friends We would like to give opportunity for arrangements to be made so that those who wish to attend can do so. We ourselves aren't even currently prepared, so our page will be updated as a date is established.

--

Any and all funds graciously donated will go strictly towards his memorial and costs related to it. This includes cost of cremation, embalming, funds related to the service, medical/hospital bills, bills that are overturned to his wife Barbara Gordon, any unexpected end-of-life costs, and general financial support to his widowed wife.

Thank you for those who took the time to get to know one of the most important men in our lives. Thank you to those who share, donate, or send their prayers to our family.

Rest in Peace, Robert Gordon.
