Remembering Riley Stauffer
Donation protected
On Friday, September 25, 2020, Riley Stauffer died suddenly while hiking and taking photographs in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At only 18 years of age, Riley was just starting life as an adult and had an exciting future in store. Riley was the last of nine children and leaves behind parents (Ron and Ruth), and siblings (Rebekah, Ron, Ray, Rachel, Reuben, Ruth, Ryan, and Rhoda) who are shocked and saddened by the loss of the youngest member of the family.
Riley's final day was spent pursuing relationships: meeting with friends and family members after having driven from Kansas to Colorado Springs. Among Riley's final words were: "This is where my heart is."
Riley was a funny, spunky, light-hearted person who enjoyed performing on stage with the Melon Patch Players in Leesburg, Florida, and had starring roles as Charlie Bucket in the production "Willy Wonka" and as Jay Kurnitz in "Lost In Yonkers" and with the Moonlight Theatre in Clermont, Florida, performing in “Newsies,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “All Shook Up.”
The Stauffer family, who lives across the USA (in Hawaii, Colorado, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, and Florida), is now making preparations for cremation during the final week of September.
This fundraiser was started and will be managed by Ron Stauffer, Riley's oldest brother, who will ensure that expenses are distributed to help cover the costs of the funeral home arrangement, flights for family members, cremation services, and other expenses related to the sudden family loss.
