Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,

It is with the heaviest heart that I share the unexpected and devastating loss of my nephew, Richard T. Flippin, who passed away while in the custody of the Howard R. Young Correctional Facility. Our family is heartbroken and struggling to understand how this could have happened.

What makes this loss even more painful is that, Richard and myself asked for medical attention but was never taken to the hospital in time. We are left with deep grief, unanswered questions, and a sense that his cries for help went unheard. Richard was more than his circumstances-he was a son, a brother, a nephew, a friend, and a young man with a whole life ahead of him. He had dreams, hopes, and people who loved him dearly. No family should have to endure the pain of loosing someone so young, especially under such circumstances.

As we navigate this unimaginable tragedy, we are asking for support to help cover the unexpected expenses related to his passing-funeral costs, memorial arrangements, and resources to help our family seek clarity and accountability.
