I am Eleanor Keating, the daughter of Reidar Keating.

My father passed away on January 15, 2026. He struggled with addiction and mental health, which unfortunately took him from us too soon.

He is one of the funniest humans I will ever know. He was very witty, he would crack jokes whenever he could. Everyone around him was constantly laughing and smiling. He was the class clown in school, and he would share stories with me all the time. One time he went too far with a joke and a girl stabbed him in the leg with a pencil. The led was in his leg the rest of his life.

While being a jokester, he was also very knowledgeable. He always had fun facts to share about the most random things, he instilled reading in my sister and I at a very young age, would help us with homework nightly, and always had something new to show and teach us. I carry his lessons with me every day.

Along with reading, music was a big part of his life and in turn my childhood. My father loved the Beatles (especially John Lennon), and playing his guitar. Some of my favorite memories are him teaching me to play, and coming downstairs to him strumming in the living room. He loved to torture me with dad music in the car instead of my Taylor Swift agenda.

This fundraiser is to help relieve the financial load of his cremation and memorial service. As an 18 year old I don’t have much to provide, as his daughter I want to give him the proper rest and goodbye.

It’s not easy to ask for help, and I know it is not easy to provide that help either. I would like to thank anyone who is interested in and able to support us during this very difficult time.
