Hi I am Reece’s mam, Donna and for the month of July I am going to be walking 20,000 steps a day which will total 620,000 steps to help raise some funds for our ICU unit. Reece should be turning 12 in July so to remember Reece and do something in his name I have decided to do a wee fundraiser.

In February 24 Reece became very unwell and was intubated and on a ventilator, we didn’t know if Reece would survive and it was a very stressful and challenging time seeing your child so unwell, hooked up to machines but Reece couldn’t have been in better hands. The care and support we all received was exceptional, they went above and beyond and what makes it even more incredible is that our ICU is not a paediatric unit but they cared for Reece’s for 4 days and that came with its own set of challenges for the care team but nothing was a bother and what could have been a very negative experience they made it easier to bare and I’m so very grateful to them all and to to thank them all we would like to make a donation to unit so they can buy something that will help support other patients/families.

So in Reece’s memory I hope you all get behind me help me celebrate Reece’s birthday in style by raising lots of money.
