Randy Pedersen was the face and voice of professional bowling for the better part of twenty years. Always the biggest personality in the room, Randy never knew a stranger — on or off the lanes. His energy and charisma were larger than life, irreplaceable, and impossible to ignore.

Randy’s death is a painful reminder of an unseen reality few have the courage to speak up about: how even the brightest personalities can mask one’s inner struggles. Now, during the month of September — widely recognized as Suicide Awareness Month — this rings true more than ever. His loss is one that will be felt for many years to come. His friends and family are heartbroken, and struggling to navigate what comes next after this tragedy.

In the wake of the sudden manner of Randy’s death, his children are scrambling to put together adequate fundings for final End of Life arrangements for their father, to honor his legacy. Randy’s humor, wit, intellect, and talent touched countless lives, and his son and daughter are asking for any and all help to be able to honor their father’s legacy to the fullest extent.

Randy loved his job, the players, and his fans. Bowling was his life. He was passionate about coaching junior bowlers to reach their greatest potential. He gave back to military veterans in charity tournaments. He travelled the world, and got to meet amazing people through this sport. It truly was an extraordinary life, and it is a shame he was unable to see that — or see how loved he was after the fact.

Donations will be put towards funeral/end of life costs, hiring a cleaning crew for his residence, any fees accrued working with the police, and/or any additional, unforeseen costs as final arrangements are made.

His children, Savannah and Chad, would like to thank Storm Bowling, the PBA, ESPN, Fox Sports, and all the friends and players (past and present) who have reached out.

Most importantly, to the fans who have loved and supported Randy for years, thank you from the bottom of our heart. The outpouring of love and support we have seen through this insurmountably difficult time has not gone unnoticed.
