Our song to our father: It Will Be Okay
It is with such a heavy heart that we are writing this. Our beloved father, Peter Yia Vang, 47 years young, has unfortunately passed away. Last Monday, he went into the ER for vomiting blood. They saw an ulcer during his endoscopy, and while trying to stop the bleeding, he went into cardiac arrest. Due to the significant amount of blood loss, he had anoxia, which caused severe brain and organ damage. We, his 6 kids, aged 10 years in one week - calling out to him, finding all options to make him better, and praying that he would wake. There was so much confusion, denial, tears, and heartbreak. After finding out he would not be able to wake, speak, eat, move, or recognize us, we knew that it would not be how he would want to spend the rest of his life, so we decided to let him go to find peace. We stayed and comforted with him until his last breath. It was the toughest decision we have ever made in our lives. It hurts us so much, but we'll bear with it, and things will get easier with time.

He enjoyed traveling, messing around with tech gadgets, photoshopping pictures, and making videos. He was always there to celebrate and watch our biggest accomplishments. He has been the best single father, and he will continue to be our hero and role model.
Our family was not prepared for these unexpected expenses, and it would mean so much to give our father the funeral he deserves to help him cross to the afterlife.
We thank you for your donation during this hard time.
