Penelope was born on March 14th, 2024, with rosy cheeks and a head full of beautiful hair, instantly filling her family’s lives with joy. But as the months went by, her Mummy felt something wasn’t quite right and fought tirelessly to find answers. At just 6 months old, Penelope’s family received the devastating news that she had a rare and cruel condition called Krabbe Disease.

It is now with the heaviest of hearts, we share the heartbreaking news that beautiful Penelope gained her angel wings on 21st July 2025.

She passed peacefully in the loving arms of her Mum, finally free from pain and struggle. Penelope was the bravest little fighter – her strength and courage were extraordinary. When Amanda gently told her it was okay to let go, Penelope chose her time. It brings her family comfort to know that she left on her own terms, surrounded by love.

Because of your kindness and support through our previous GoFundMe, Penelope’s family was able to spend nearly a full year making unforgettable memories with her. That precious time meant everything to them, and they are deeply thankful for the love and generosity you showed.

We would be truly grateful for any donations to support Penelope’s family through this heartbreaking time – helping to ease the financial pressures of funeral costs and giving Amanda the space she needs to grieve before slowly returning to work.

In Penelope’s final months, Amanda spent many cherished moments with her at Southwold Beach. This beautiful place has become deeply special to Amanda, and she finds comfort in the thought of returning there with her family to remember her precious little girl. Because of this, we also hope to raise funds for a memorial nearby, if we are able.
