I’m so sorry that a lot of you are finding out this way but last night (6/9/25) around 10:00pm our dad Michael R Osckel went into cardiac arrest then by 11:30pm he was gone..

My brother was with him and performed CPR, called 911, and got him to the hospital as quick as possible. The doctors and nurses did everything that they could but Papa was a 70 year old man with a lot of medical conditions his heart just couldn’t hold out any longer.

Honestly when he was in the hospital 3 years ago we really thought we’d lose him then but he lived to see his 70th birthday and we got to spend a whole 3 additional years with him so we’re very fortunate.

We always knew we’d lose him eventually but nothing can really prepare you for the day that it happens.

Yesterday afternoon my brother took Papa and our nieces, his grandkids, on a fun filled day of Applebee’s, the mall, and the Lego store then they finished the day at my sisters house with Papa’s favorite pizza.. there’s no way we would have guessed that hours after that we’d all be gathered at the hospital together saying our final goodbyes..

We were singing Spirit In The Sky he always said we should sing that song when his time comes.

We all love you so much Papa it sucks to lose you but you’ll always be in our hearts.

We really don’t need very much but my brother, sister, and I haven’t been working much and the cremation cost plus the service is just a bit more than we were expecting.
