Remembering Owen Leslie Jones
The purpose of this fundraiser is to contribute to the remembrance of Owen Leslie Jones, and to support his loved ones during this tragic time. My name is Katelyn and I am the mother of Owen’s daughter, please read below for Owen’s story.
Owen was born on June 26th, 1994 in Tucson, Arizona, to his mother, Natalie Jones and his father, David Jones. His older sister, Pamela, was 5 at the time, and in 1999 they welcomed the youngest, Frances, into their beautiful family. He also had many loving family members including his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that are all hurt by this loss.
They resided in New Paltz, New York for the majority of Owen’s life, and they created and took care of a farm for his entire childhood. Owen enjoyed nature, landscaping, and skateboarding on his free time. He had immense knowledge of all sorts of passions, and was a very intelligent man.
In 2017, we delivered our daughter, Scarlett Marie Jones into the world and started our family. Scarlett was the love of his life, and brought him a happiness I had never seen in him before. He loved reading to her, taking her on walks outside, and watching her favorite movies with her. He had a bond with her like no other, and she is so young right now, but she speaks lovingly of him every single day. I know that his love will be carried in her heart for eternity.
On Thanksgiving of 2018, we sadly lost his mother Natalie in a tragic nature. Owen was loved so dearly by his mother, and he loved his mother with everything in him. The bond they had was unspeakable, and I think Owen passed that same exact love onto his own child, because his mother was able to nurture him with everything in her soul. The loss of Natalie devastated him. This is where things took an unfortunate turn, and Owen struggled heavily in the years following.
The family comes together today seeking comfort and prayers in this time of grief. Our hearts are shattered, and the loss of Owen has struck us at a time where we are not able to providethe funeral services that he deserves. We want to be able to say goodbye and honor him in a way that is just as beautiful as his soul. Any contributions made towards this cause will forever be appreciated by his family and loved ones.
Although we find peace in knowing he is no longer suffering, this is a pain that cannot compare to anything else. May Owen Leslie Jones rest in peace, and shine bright amongst the stars. He will forever hold a very special place in the hearts of whoever knew him.
