Remembering Ned Bechtold

Dear Friends,

Please take a moment in consideration of our dearly departed friend Ned Bechtold, 38, who passed away earlier this year on July 27th, 2023 in Los Angeles, California. Ned was working and living in the Los Angeles area after making his cross-country trek from New York in 2014.

Ned was an avid outdoorsman, passionate fisherman and a highly capable musician. He relished bringing people to the Port Washington shoreline to paint, draw, play music and fish. He could often be found here with his closest friends, sharing stories and enjoying the plentiful offerings of the Manhasset Bay.

Ned quickly made a favorable impression on anyone who was lucky enough to meet him. His animated personality was complemented by his warm natured, intelligent and humorous disposition. He will not ever be forgotten.

In his honor, we are asking for your support in dedicating a memorial bench with a commemorative plaque at the Port Washington Docks in his memory.
