Remembering Nayla - Lung Cancer Research Fund

Our Mother Nayla Alabado lost her battle to Stage 4 Lung Cancer on January 30, 2020 after fighting like a true warrior for a year. As we approach the anniversary of her death, our family would like to celebrate her life and honor her by raising money for the cancer center she was treated at, MD Anderson in Gilbert, Arizona and donating it in her name. (See Update below for exactly where the funds are going)

If you knew our mother, you know that she fought this cancer like a bad-ass, and always with a smile on her face. She tried everything her doctors threw at her from clinical trials, to experimental treatments and holistic methods. Her open heart and patience throughout her time with cancer was an inspiration. She truly never complained not for a single moment. Her belief in her treatments and the hard work her doctors did for her, despite her being so sick, will always remind us all to keep pushing and believing no matter what.


We will be donating the money we raise to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Gilbert, AZ because of the incredible care our mother was given there. She spent 46 days in the hospital at the end, and became very close with everyone there. Her nurses in particular fell in love with herand became close with her over that time. They loved her so much and cried with us that night she passed away. To know the care and kindness they showed her, and to our family those last few days, is something we will never forget.

This donation will be made in our Mothers name. We know that she is smiling down on all of us today, and every day.
