Hi everyone, I would like to tell you about Nancy Kennon. She was a great woman who loved to dance, cook, and bake. Every Monday and Friday, she was at the Moose Lodge cooking for members, family, friends, police officers, and firefighters. She was a hairdresser for so many years. She took care of whoever needed care. She opened her house for many people and many kids whose families neglected them. Whenever anyone was in need, she was there to help.

She had rectal cancer that led to chemo 6 years ago, which led to neuropathy, and ultimately, she was bed-bound for 6 years. In 2024, she got dementia; unfortunately, dementia took her within a year. She fought a strong fight with the pain she talked about and the pain she suffered in silence. She was a hard rock of the Moose Lodge & the heart of El Monte. She moved here in 1954 & worked hard for this city since.
