Nakia Pope was vibrant and filled with nothing but joy. She was a loving mother, daughter, wife and she was a member of every community she came across. Her days were spent either with her four boys or at work which she didn't consider work because she loved being able to support adults with intellectual disabilities.
On April 10th, 2021 The Pope-Fuller family faced a tragic loss. Nakia took her last breath after weeks of being in the ICU fighting one of the longest, yet strongest fights of her life. God had other plans, he decided to call Nakia home. As the phones rang and news traveled the family and a community mourned. Nakia was loved by many but most importantly her 4 boys; Malik, Grant, Ronell, Sadat and her husband John. Nakia suffered from diabetes a disease all too familiar to many of us. Nakia changed her eating habits, exercised, and made appropriate changes needed to defeat this disease. Although she fought long and hard -- the family eventually watched their beloved mother, daughter and wife lose the battle. As the days went by the family never left her side. Nakia suffered every horrible stage of this disease, starting with losing the sight in her left eye. As tragic as this has been, to lose such a young beautiful woman, the Pope-Fuller family have to move forward without the most important person in their lives, Nakia. As the family mourns and adjust to the youngest (12) being diagnosed with the same diseases taking insulin 3 times a day. We want to try our best to support this family any way we can.
This GofundMe is being made on behalf of Nakia's three youngest boys (12) ,(13) and (17). The family as a whole is devastated from this loss. As they try to pick up to pieces of what is left and prepare the boys for college and life without a mother. We want to support them in any way we can, especially financially .Due to medical expenses , the family has suffered a significant financial burden - anything that you can find in your heart to donate can help.
*All funds will go directly to the family*
