Hi there, our darling boy, the fuzziest love of our life has moved on to the next stage, and left behind a massive hole in our hearts.
He was the sweetest little guy who loved to get into trouble just to ask for for more love, he slept with us almost every night and was the absolute cutest little weirdo we've ever met.
We were extremely lucky to have brought Miso into our lives and lived with him during both the pandemic and schooling, as it allowed us to probably spend more time with him than a lot of people get with their cats.
In the week before Christmas, we noticed our boy was making frequent trips to the litter box, which quickly led to an emergency vet visit. What followed was a series of urgent care visits over Christmas, New Year’s, and beyond as we tried to understand what was wrong.
After multiple examinations and tests, he was diagnosed with severe internal inflammation caused by IBD. We committed fully to his care — transitioning him to a specialized diet, following a strict medication routine, and doing everything we could to keep him comfortable and happy.
For a while, he stabilized and even showed signs of improvement. But in March, his condition began to decline again. Despite continued veterinary care and our best efforts, he was facing too many complications. Ultimately, we made the incredibly difficult and compassionate decision to let him go peacefully.
We pursued every diagnostic option available to understand what he was facing. This included bloodwork, ultrasounds, X-rays, and ultimately a biopsy to confirm his condition. These tests were critical in guiding his treatment and giving him the best possible chance, but they also contributed significantly to the overall cost of his care.
We're looking for funds to help pay for his cremation, as well as the remainder of some of the medical bills from his treatment from December to March.
