Help Us Honor Milo Milo was my 4-month-old puppy, but to me and my boyfriend, he was so much more than just a pet. He was our baby, our best friend, and a huge part of our lives. We were co-parenting him together—learning how to take care of him, watching him grow, taking care of him when he was teething, making sure he ate, slept, played, and most importantly, felt loved and safe. For the last 8 years, I had always begged and wished for a dog. I would go to parties and people’s houses just because they had dogs, and I could spend hours with them because being around dogs made me genuinely happy. My parents were always very adamant about never having a dog, so when Milo finally came into my life, it felt like one of my biggest dreams had finally come true. Milo became everything I had ever wished for. He was the funniest, smartest, sweetest little puppy, and he brought so much happiness into our lives. My boyfriend and I got to experience so many of his little milestones together, and we were so excited for all the years we thought we would have with him. Unfortunately, Milo became very sick, and despite everything we did to try to help him, we lost him two days ago. Watching him during his final moments is something I will never forget. Seeing our little baby struggle and knowing there was nothing more we could do completely broke our hearts. We did everything we could to get Milo the medical attention he needed. Unfortunately, the emergency medical care and treatment resulted in medical bills that have now left us with a heavy financial burden on top of the heartbreak of losing him. We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover Milo’s medical expenses. Any amount, no matter how small, would mean so much to us. Milo’s life was far too short, but we want to remember him for the love he gave us and the love we gave him. We know we did everything we could to make him feel safe, cared for, and loved every single day he was with us. He wasn’t “just a dog.” He was our baby. He was my dream come true, my best friend, and a little piece of our family that we will carry with us forever. Rest in peace, Milo. You were and will always be loved by everyone who knew you.
