Remembering Michael Dumny

It is with great sadness that our friend Michael Dumny has unfortunately passed away. It is clear from the outpourings of emotion and memories that Michael was a much loved and larger than life character who could always be relied upon to put a smile on a person's face. For those of you who knew Michael personally, you may be unaware of the online presence he cultivated for himself over nearly two decades.
Myke is a beloved and long time member of EWB, an internet community that originated as a discussion board for a text-based wrestling simulator in the late 90s and somehow is still going to this day, having evolved into a tight-knit brotherhood based almost entirely on bad puns and in-jokes that are old enough to attend secondary school. Myke could always be relied upon to take even the most serious of discussions and derail them completely by making an atrociously bad pun, which inevitably set everyone else off. He was also known for his all-consuming passion for Leyton Orient, inserting random Polish words into discussions and posting pictures of his dog whenever someone needed cheering up.
Myke was also a member of the N7 Dragons FIFA Pro Club, where his pioneering of the overlapping centre-back role many years before it made it into the professional game was a particular highlight, if not for his team mates at the time. A true footballing genius ahead of his time, I have no doubt that his predictions of the return of long ball 442 with wingers and a big lad/small lad combination up top will someday come true.
This fundraising page has been set up to help his family with funeral expenses.
