Remembering Michael Cantrell
During the early hours of May 6, the world lost a truly beautiful soul. Michael Dean Cantrell was born on May 6, 2000, and unexpectedly left us 25 years later. What should have been a celebration of all that he was and all he had yet to become, became a moment of profound heartbreak for everyone who loved him.
Michael was an extraordinary soul. He lived with purpose, compassion, and a quiet strength that touched everyone around him. He loved his family deeply, and his friends became family too. He had a passion for life; whether it was working out, cooking, learning a new sport, or meeting someone new, Michael showed up with his whole heart. He was kind, thoughtful, and always eager to lift others up.
After surviving a serious car accident a year and a half ago, Michael’s resilience never wavered. Though he was in pain and recovering, he still went to the gym regularly, determined to do what he could and teach others what he was still relearning himself. He continued to check in on his loved ones, putting others before himself even while quietly carrying his own struggles. That was just who he was; selfless, strong, and always full of care.
This GoFundMe has been created to help cover the costs of Michael’s funeral service, medical bills both past and current, transportation services, and to support his family during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us honor his life and legacy; one defined by love, perseverance, and a heart full of generosity.
We are devastated and heartbroken beyond words. But even in our sorrow, we are holding on to the incredible person Michael was and the light he brought into so many lives. He gave so much to this world, and now it is our turn to give back to him.
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your support during this incredibly difficult time.
