In Loving Memory of Melissa Lubrico

My name is Candace (Cocoa) Brown, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my best friend, Melissa Lubrico, who tragically lost her life this past week in a motorcycle accident in Galivants Ferry, South Carolina.

Melissa was truly one of a kind. She was full of life, full of laughter, and the kind of person who made everyone around her feel like family. If you knew Melissa, you knew her big heart and her fearless spirit. She lived life boldly and authentically, with a deep love for motorcycles, tattoos, and the barbering craft she was so passionate about. Being a barber wasn’t just a job for Melissa — it was how she connected with people. Her chair was a place of stories, laughter, and friendship.

Melissa leaves behind two sons who meant everything to her, as well as a loving boyfriend who is devastated by this unimaginable loss. Her boys were the center of her world, and she worked hard every day to build a life they could be proud of.

This sudden tragedy has left her family facing not only heartbreak, but also unexpected financial burdens. We are raising funds to help cover funeral and memorial expenses and to provide support for her children during this incredibly difficult time.

Melissa touched so many lives with her kindness, humor, and strength. She had a way of lighting up a room and making people feel seen and valued. The world feels a little quieter without her in it.
