Almost 1 year ago, our lives were forever changed when we suffered an unimaginable loss of our dear friend, co-worker, and family member to a shocking act of violence. Melissa was not only a valued member of our team, but also a kind, compassionate, and joyful soul who touched the lives of everyone around her, including her patients.

Her passing left a hole in our hearts, and in the life of her new husband, who also works alongside us here at the hospital. As we continue to grieve without answers and await justice, it is important that we focus on Melissa and create something lasting to honor her memory - a memorial tree and plaque on the hospital grounds.

The tree will stand as a beautiful living reminder of her spirit, while the plaque will carry on her name. This will offer a place of reflection and healing.
