In Loving Memory of Matt Ott (1985 – 2025)
“The world is dimmer without his light.”
On Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, we lost one of the kindest souls to ever walk this earth. Matt passed away suddenly at the age of 39 due to cardiac arrest, leaving behind a void that words can’t fill.
If you knew Matt, you know he was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back—no questions asked. He was the one who stopped on the highway to help a stranger with a flat tire. He was the one handing out food and kindness to the homeless without expecting anything in return. He was a protector, a listener, a steady presence in a chaotic world. Matt made the world better simply by being in it.
He was a lifelong Philly sports fan, cheering (and sometimes yelling) with all his heart for the Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers. His loyalty was fierce, whether it was to his teams or the people he loved. He adored his wife Jennifer—his best friend and soulmate—and shared an unbreakable bond with his brother Justin, his beloved Grandmother Charlotte, and his many nieces and nephews who lit up his world. Matt’s circle of friends was more like an army—each one touched by his warmth, his laughter, and his unwavering generosity.
He found joy in the simple things: playing Xbox, cracking jokes, spending time with the people he loved most. He never asked for much, only ever giving, never expecting anything in return.
Now, in the wake of this sudden and devastating loss, we’re asking for help to honor Matt the way he deserves. Jennifer is facing the immense burden of arranging his funeral, and the costs are more than one person should have to carry alone, especially while grieving.
If Matt ever made you smile, if he ever helped you or someone you love, or if his story simply moved you, please consider donating. Any amount helps, and every dollar goes directly toward funeral and memorial expenses. Let’s give back to a man who gave so much to everyone else.
Let’s come together for Matt one last time. Let’s lift Jennifer with the love and support he would’ve poured out for any one of us.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
Fly high, Matt. You’ll always be part of our team.
