Hi, my name is Harris, and I’m raising funds to help Marv’s children go on the holiday he had always planned for them.

Tragically, Marv passed away two weeks ago. We had spoken not long before about how he was looking forward to taking his kids away at Christmas, once he had recovered from surgery for cancer.

He fought this illness with everything he had. He knew the risks of the surgery, but he was willing to take that chance for one reason—to have more time with his family.

Marv wasn’t just a friend to me—he was a brother from another mother. I’ve known him since we were kids. I’ve spent many Christmases with his family, enjoyed some great holidays away together, and he’s been my closest mate.

Like many of us, it’s hard to know what to do now he’s gone.

Marv never wanted help with treatment costs, and this fundraiser isn’t about that. I’ve spoken with Amelia and have her blessing—this is simply a gift from all of us to show how much he was loved, and to do something special for his children in his memory.

I can’t begin to imagine what it’s like for his family right now, but I hope this can bring them a little bit of comfort.

So I’m hoping we can come together and raise enough to give his children the holiday he so badly wanted for them—a chance to make some special memories.

Anything raised over the target will go directly to Amelia to help support the children and their future.

Anyone who knew Marv will know the kind of man he was. He was always the first to help others and never thought twice about it—and more often than not, he was the first to buy a round at the pub too.

Any contribution, big or small, will go directly towards giving his kids something special in his memory. It would mean a lot to their family, and it’s something Marv would have loved.
