Remembering Marty Pierce

We are heartbroken to share the unexpected loss of Martin Ira Pierce, known lovingly to all as Marty—a devoted husband, an incredible father, a proud veteran, and a pillar in his community. Marty leaves behind his wife Kristi, and their two teenage children, Parker and Calla, who are now facing life without the heart of their home.

Marty lived a life marked by kindness, humor, service, and deep love for the people around him. From his early days as an Eagle Scout to his service in the U.S. Air Force, and later as a volunteer Scouter for over a decade, Marty was always guiding, giving, and lifting others up. He passed on his passion for the outdoors, survival skills, and the joy of shared adventures to his children—and to every young Scout lucky enough to learn from him.

Whether it was teaching others to swim, sharing his love of hunting, camping, and fishing, or simply lighting up the backyard with laughter and BBQ smoke, Marty created a life filled with joy, purpose, and connection.

To honor Marty’s life and the lasting impact he had on his family, friends, and community, we are raising funds to:
  • Build a permanent memorial in his name—while the details are still being worked out, we would like to build a bench at Timothy Lake at his favorite fishing spot, a place where loved ones can sit, reflect, and remember the generous, adventurous, and spirited soul he was.
  • Support Kristi, Parker, and Calla during this profoundly difficult time as they grieve and adjust to life without Marty. Any remaining funds after the memorial has been funded will be used to support Marty's family.

Marty gave freely of his time, his knowledge, and his heart—never asking for anything in return. He opened his home, his arms, and his life to so many. Now, we have the chance to give back in a way that honors that spirit.

Please consider donating to help carry on Marty’s legacy. Every gift—no matter the size—means the world to his family and will help ensure that his memory lives on, not just in stories, but in a physical place of peace and remembrance.

Thank you for loving Marty and showing up for his family now, just as he showed up for so many of us.
