Our family is heartbroken by the sudden loss of Marina Ramos aka “Mamacita” as she was known in her school community at Birney Elementary. She was a beloved school aide and served in her role at Birney for over 30 years. Kids and staff alike felt loved and welcomed in her presence. She passed unexpectedly on September 20th. She was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. at age 20.

Marina “Mamacita”’s kindness touched everyone she met. She loved to be social, connecting with her friends, baking cakes, and building community by showing up again and again for her family, friends, staff, and children.

She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
