Remembering Levi's Family: A Community's Call to Assist

Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, my name is Adam Bequette. I am the Mayor of the City of St. Mary, MO, and also a retired Chief of Police after 15 years in law enforcement and Fire Services/EMS with my brother Lt. Levi Glore. It destroys me to even be announcing this on what is supposed to be a holiday of joy.

So this has been one of the hardest things, but it is with heavy hearts that I and many are enduring the passing of our beloved friends, family, acquaintances, and multiple public safety departments are dealing with the loss of Levi Burt's family. Levi's wife and two children were cherished friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers, and we mostly watched the children grow up since they were born. They brought so much love and light into our lives. Unfortunately, they lost their lives on Christmas Eve on their way home to finish their family's Christmas and were involved in a motor vehicle accident in which they lost their lives. They will be deeply missed by all who knew Lizzy, who was 28, and his two sons, 4 and 6 years old, taken from this world all too soon. Their youngest son survived, but unfortunately, his wife and two older boys passed on to be with the Lord.

As we come to terms with their passing, as it will be many years if ever, we are faced with the difficult task of arranging the family's final farewell and arrangements.

Myself and others, including GCFD, GCPD, DRFD, and St. Mary Police Department, are working to give Levi Burt's family the dignified and heartfelt send-off they deserve, but unfortunately, the financial burden of funeral expenses and other expenses is very overbearing and overwhelming for him and his family during this already challenging time. Levi has put his life on the line and saved so many lives in his public safety career, and now he needs all the support he can receive during this tragic time and incident that occurred in St. Francis County on Christmas Eve.

We are reaching out to our community for support in honoring Lizzy and the boys' memory. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help alleviate the financial strain and allow us to focus on grieving and remembering them and memorialize fondly.

Funds raised will go towards the funeral service, burial or cremation costs, transportation, memorial arrangements, and personal expenses for housing and care for the youngest of the children and for medical expenses. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in ensuring that Levi's wife and two sons are laid to rest with the dignity and respect that they deserve as he has devoted his life to the preservation of life and public safety.

We also appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and messages of support during this difficult time. Your kindness means the world to us as we navigate through our grief and support Levi Burt and his youngest son from this loss of his family.

Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Together, I'm praying for my brother that we can give his family the farewell they deserve as they have touched our hearts and many others in the same way.
