Remembering Levi, Help his Sisters
Donation protected
On May 23rd we lost our boy before he had a chance to do any of what he dreamed of.
Levi Blaukopf, 19 years old, was genuine and kind, always with a smile for his friends. He meditated, worked out, learned languages, drew, read voraciously and enjoyed the company of friends. He was bright, creative, insightful, talented and most of all, loved.
He didn't want to be a conscript. He wanted to be in Alaska, in nature, jumping in a cold lake: he liked it the colder, the better.
We wonder why he didn't reach out to anyone. Perhaps he felt he didn't want to burden anyone or that no one was in his shoes. Levi was a trusted friend to many and beloved.
His last night was spent in happy companionship with a good friend and at home with his sister Annie, two years younger. He gave them no clue that he would no longer live to return. After a full day of training at his new role, a desk job in the military, he took his life.
Annie had to open the door when the news came knocking in the middle of the night.
I hope that we can all make a donation to this Go Fund Me page to support Annie's two weeks at Odyssey Teen Camp, so far one of the only places on the planet where she can be herself. Restoring for her a modicum of calm after this great loss will mean the world.
Any money left over from these proceeds will go to education funds for all three of Levi's sisters who are daily mourning the brother they loved.
Thank you so much for the love and support for the family. Please share this link with anyone looking for ways to help.
Keep Levi’s siblings in your thoughts, and please, if you ever feel alone and at the end of your tether, reach out to family, a friend or a professional.
