On June 19th, 2024, Leonard 'Lenny' J. Fisher passed away in his home in East Hampton, NY, surrounded by his family. On that day, the world lost a dad, a husband, a brother, a cool uncle, a cousin, and a friend. But we also lost so much more. He was an incredible human being who touched so many lives. He was a caretaker, a cheerleader, a storyteller, a jokester, my biggest supporter, and my best friend. Some of you may know him as a talented and passionate journalist or an incredibly cool guy. I simply knew him as the best dad.

Lenny was a beacon of light. He brought people together, he brought warmth and humor to any room he stepped in with his storytelling and outgoing nature, and had this incredible way of making everyone immediately feel like a best friend. He had such appreciation for everything in life—even the small things. Whether it was his morning buttered roll with coffee, a cold glass of Coke, or a beautiful sunny day. He taught me to always be the first one on the dance floor and led by example. I learned early on from him that life was meant to be enjoyed.

As we come up on a year of grieving this tremendous loss, we hope to join together to celebrate his life, to remember him, and dedicate a tree in his name in Greenwich Village to honor the incredible man that Lenny was.

A lunch will be held after the tree dedication at Lenny's favorite restaurant, Pesce Pasta, for his family, friends, and loved ones to celebrate his life with food, drink, and storytelling—just the way he would have wanted.

Any contribution, big or small, will help honor Lenny's memory and will help with the financial burden left on his wife, Susanna, and children, Rachel and Ari.
