My name is Jasmine, and I'm raising funds on the behalf of the Lopez family as they navigate this difficult time. On Friday, July 17th, Korrina was in a tragic car accident that left her friend paralyzed, and that claimed not just her life but also the life of another.

The name "Korrina" is derived from the ancient Greek word Kore, and is linked to spring, youthfulness, and vitality. Korrina was all three, and then some. She was a 22-year old preschool teacher at Alta Loma Christian School, lifelong Dodger fan, concert-frequenter, and adventure extraordinaire. She had a sparkle in her eyes and a contagious laugh that lit up any space she occupied. Her energy was easy and magnetic, which explains why she was a friend to everyone. Korrina was the type who noticed people - those sitting alone, those simply in need of someone. She was just beginning her journey to become an Occupational Therapist for children.

If you know the Lopez family, you know that they never ask for help or assistance, but are always the first to show up for others. Hospital medical expenses, in addition to funeral costs, are not something they should have to worry about when mourning the loss of their daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend. It's our turn to show up for them.
