Hello friends. On February 24, 2026 we lost our dear, sweet K-Mack (Kevin McNamara) to Vascular Dementia.

Although we separated 10 years ago after 18 years of marriage I remained his primary support system and caregiver. A few months ago, the one car that 3 of us shared needed a new engine. This vehicle was imperative to the continuation of Kevin's care and support.

During this time, Kevin's health rapidly declined. There were unforseen personal and medical costs that exhausted our savings and credit cards. I'm in the process of clearing out his home that he loved so much & taking care of his beloved cat & "best friend", Max.

I know over the years there have been many questions regarding Kevin's military experiences, VA benefits etc... I am finally able to clear that up for those that are curious.

When Kevin came home from Vietnam, he was treated badly by certain government institutions. He vowed he would never take a penny from the VA as long as he was alive. Finally, 60 years later he gave me permission to apply for a copy of his DD-214 so he would be eligible for benefits that would help us out. He passed away before this process could be completed. We had to cancel our life insurance a few years ago as we couldn't afford it. I've put the last of his living expenses on his Social Security Retirement card ($950/month) and when Social Security is notified of his death, I will be responsible for that. I am not eligible for any death benefits until I become 60.

Folks, I have to be honest. This is the roughest thing I've had to do in my entire life. I loved this man with my whole heart. Regardless of how our marriage was, we were best friends when we began our relationship and best friends when it ended. Til death do us part.

It's a humbling experience to have to ask our friends for funds but at this point I have no other recourse. If you can, I would welcome your help. If you aren't in a position to help monetarily, please share our fundraiser.

I am hoping to set up a Celebration of Life in Key West, FL around the anniversary of his passing. We will also share it virtually so everyone interested may participate.

Thank you all for your well wishes, phone calls, love and prayers. He held a piece of each of you in his heart.
