Remembering Julia Goodwin
On May 11th, 2021 at 7:34 AM, there was a fiery crash on interstate I-84, in Boise, Idaho, involving nine vehicles. This crash shut down the freeway for several hours, affecting the morning commute for many people. Unfortunately for some, it affected much more than that.
In that crash, four people were injured. One of those injured was a vibrant young lady named Julia Goodwin, who was on her way to work. Tragically, she was hit with flying debris from the crash and was ultimately unable to recover from her injuries. After four difficult days of fighting for her life, Julia passed away May 15th, 2021.
Julia’s sudden passing affected so many lives, and has left us all with an indescribable amount of devastation and grief.
Words can’t begin to explain the impact that Julia had on everyone she met. She was one of the most kindhearted, loving souls that one could know. Julia was a medical assistant in an urgent care, and was currently in nursing school to accomplish her dream of becoming a nurse. She truly had a passion for helping people, and would do just about anything for the patients she encountered.
In both her professional and personal life, Julia constantly demonstrated positivity, compassion, inclusiveness, loyalty, friendship, and love to everyone she met. Her positivity and outlook on life was truly admirable, and she will forever be remembered for her vivacious personality and contagious laugh.
Friends and family in the Boise area would like a place to gather to mourn her loss, remember her joyful spirit, and recall the memories we have of our beloved friend. To do this, we are raising money to donate a bench and tree in her memory at Ann Morrison Park.
In order to do this, we are asking for the love and support of our community. Any donation is much appreciated. Anything above the goal will be donated to her fiancé, Jake, to help him during this difficult time.
