All of us at The Door are saddened to hear about the passing of our dear colleague Joy Griffin on April 9, 2020. Joy joined The Door in 2012 as a staff member in our supportive housing program and helped countless young people and their children reach their full potential.  Joy made the residents of our Housing program feel truly at home with her warmth and kindness.  She was a positive and loving figure in not only our young adult's lives but also for the young children who live at our 9th Street program. Joy was also known at the organization for having a fantastic singing voice and in personal life she was an armature jazz singer and lead voice in her church’s choir.  Joy was a dedicated church goer and mother to her four children, her son Michael whom recently got married, Ashanti, Johnathan and Duchieun. Funds raised will go directly to her family to help cover the costs of cremation, a memorial, and other supports to help them get by in the upcoming weeks. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
