Remembering Jonathan Jones

We are saddened and devastated at the loss of our dear friend, Jonathan Jones. Jonathan had heart surgery on Friday, December 11th at UMMC. On the night of Sunday, December 13th, Jonathan suffered a stroke due to a blood clot discovered deep in his brain. Jonathan went in for immediate brain surgery, but unfortunately this was too much for the toughest guy we know. Jonathan went into a coma and never woke up from the surgery. Jonathan passed away on Friday, December 18th.
This GoFundMe is being set up to help take care of Jonathan’s cremation expenses, as well as provide for his daughter, Harley. Harley is a beautiful, active 7th grader who loves her Dad very much. We are hoping to raise enough money to have a short term fund to help provide for her over the next five years in ways that her Dad would have (soccer fees, prom dresses, senior pictures), as well as trust that we will set up for Harley’s college fund. 100% of the money raised on this GoFundMe will be spent on JJ’s final arrangements and Harley.
JJ was a friend to everyone he met. He never met a stranger. He has made an impact on all of our lives. Please consider contributing to this fund so that we can show his daughter how much he was loved and that he continued to provide for her even after his passing.

My name is Jennifer Simmons. Jonathan has been one of my dearest friends for almost the last 30 years. I have been asked by his family and closest friends to set up and manage this account.
This money will be used to pay for Jonathan’s cremation, aid Maria and Harley (his wife and daughter) in paying the expenses that Jonathan would have paid until his benefits kick in and the remaining money will be put into a trust for Harley to go to college.
The beneficiaries of this money are Maria and Harley Jones. I have been authorized by Maria (Harley is a minor) to withdraw the money from the GoFund me and distribute it outside of GoFundMe as outlined above.
