Remembering Jonathan: A Loving Son's Legacy
Donation protected
Jonathan was an amazing young man who faced the adversities in his life with an irrepressible spirit. Born with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome), Jonathan faced both physical and developmental challenges. He was raised by a loving single mother, Yolanda, who faces her own serious health issues. Jonathan was always working on improving himself and reaching for that next step in life. He graduated from Timberline High School 2020 and went on to complete their 18-21 program. He began attending Journeys DDA in the Summer of 2024 and was instantly embraced by the community. Jonathan was funny, kind, loyal, and an amazing friend. Yet, there were three things that Jonathan loved more than anything else in this world: his mom, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Boise State Broncos.
Jonathan always tried to be strong, even when faced with difficulties in life that would break most people, let alone a 22-year-old man with disabilities. He never gave up and always stayed positive.
When Jonathan got sick last fall, it seemed like just another bump in life that he would easily overcome. As his condition worsened, his family maintained an unwavering faith that he would be home from the hospital soon...in time to celebrate Christmas and watch BSU play in the Fiesta Bowl. And he was. It seemed that Jonathan would be okay, but he wasn't.
Jonathan lost his brave fight this New Year's. He passed away with his family at his side. May he breathe easy now and keep cheering from the sidelines.
Any donations to assist Jonathan's mother with funeral and hospital expense would be greatly appreciated.
