Remembering John Sleight
Donation protected
With a very heavy heart I share that Olivia’s father John Sleight has passed away today 10/15/20 around 12:30pm.
John was only 47 years old and diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer earlier this year. He underwent surgery at the end of July to remove the tumor but never fully recovered.
John was true fighter every step of the way-- he was on/off a ventilator 4 times this summer and each time we thought it was the end, he’d fool us all and came out fighting. He ultimately passed peacefully in a Hospice on Long Island with his family by his side.
John leaves behind a beautiful, smart and incredibly strong 12-year-old daughter Olivia. He was a great father, a dear friend to many, a colleague, a son, a nephew, a brother and a uncle.
Anyone who knows him wouldn’t hesitate to tell you how great he truly was.
He was a big teddy bear, ball buster , wise ass, huge sports fan (mets/giants), avid movie buff, tattoo loving, sometimes grumpy old man that wouldn’t harm a fly. His smile and laugh were infectious and he will be surely missed by us all.
All money raised will help to pay for his funeral expenses & Olivia’s education.
We thank you from the bottom of hearts for all your support, love, and prayers during this difficult time.
