Remembering John Sa-Won Kim

Donation protected
It is with great sadness, that we have to share the passing of John Sa-Won Kim, on September 15th. For those that have had the pleasure of meeting John, you already know that he was the most loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, colleague, cousin, uncle, nephew, neighbor, and friend. John was always in the service of others, and put others first always. He knew exactly what everyone was feeling or needed. He leaves behind his beloved wife Jules, and beautiful girls Ara and Dara.

John lived in the Milpitas area for most of his life attending Spangler/Curtner Elementary, Rancho Middle School, and Milpitas High School. John was the most caring person many of us have ever met; he would pull over for strangers to help change a tire, be the first volunteer before even being asked, loved buying homeless people outside of restaurants meals and listened to their stories - they will miss him dearly, and most importantly he loved everyone wholeheartedly. He and Jules were never afraid to share their love for each other, and we all witnessed their unconditional love for one another and the girls every day.

John was undoubtedly the most talented person we have ever known. He could draw, make balloon animals, drive a boat, build a chicken coup, train dogs, cut hair, write poetry, teach, fish, speak to children/teens/elders about any topic, fix appliances, etc., but his greatest gift to us all was his lesson of loving unconditionally. John lit up every single space he entered with his generosity, kindness, and undivided attention for people.

The funds collected will be to directly support Jules, and the girls for all future life-related expenses. We all know that John never asked anything of anyone, it is very difficult to even create such a fund, as he was the one who wanted to give wholeheartedly everything he could to others.

We thank you all for your support, love, and prayers. We know that everyone is grieving so deeply that it hurts, however, we humbly request you not to contact Jules directly at this time, and please reach out to me for any urgent questions in the immediate future. This loss is deeply personal, and Jules and the girls need their privacy during this time. The funeral will be family-only in a few weeks.. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU all for your prayers, love, and support.

Lastly, important and humble request is that Jules would like emails ([email redacted]) or letters of your experiences and stories about John. She wants to put together an album for her girls to treasure from all the people that were lucky to have known John. Please also contact me for mailing information for those who want to send funds via mail.
